Campus Phone Information
EMPLOYEES HAVE TWO OPTIONS FOR MAKING AND RECEIVING TELEPHONE CALLS FROM ESU PHONE NUMBERS.

Option 1
Incoming Calls: Change voicemail greeting to explain the situation. Ask callers to leave a message with their phone number and email address, and we will respond either via email or an alternate phone number.
Outgoing Calls:
-
Email
-
Teams
-
Zoom
-
Personal device

OPTION 2
Incoming and Outgoing Calls: Workers from home will connect via VPN and use the Jabber desk phone to take and place calls. Due to limited VPN resources, this option will be limited to high volume phone users only.
CAN I FORWARD MY DESK PHONE TO MY CELL PHONE ?
No. ESU phone numbers cannot be forwarded to off-campus phone numbers.
ALTERNATIVES TO PHONE
Other communication alternatives include Zoom, Teams, and Email.
WHAT SHOULD YOUR VOICE MAIL MESSAGE SAY?
In the voicemail, let them know about the current situation, and that you are checking your voicemail. Ask them for their email, in order to get back to them.
For Example: "You have reached the desk of Corky the Hornet. Due to Coronavirus Covid-19 precautions, I may be working remotely, however, I am still checking and returning messages. If you leave a voicemail message, please note that I may return your call from an alternate number. If you prefer that I contact you via email, please leave your email address.
